Larger 27,000-square-foot store will bring Foodland favorites to community in thoughtfully planned new space at redevelopment project of former Dillingham Plaza
Locally owned Foodland Super Market, Ltd., Hawai‘i’s largest grocery retailer, and landowner Ke Kula ʻo Kamehameha, today announced plans to open a brand-new Foodland Dillingham store at ʻŌlauniu at Kapālama Kai, the transformative redevelopment of the former Dillingham Plaza.
Scheduled to open in February 2028, the approximately 27,000-square-foot supermarket will be located at the ʻEwa end of the property, opposite from Foodland’s current location. The new store will be designed with the needs of today’s customers and the Kapālama Kai community in mind. The current Foodland Dillingham, which has served the community since 1969 as an original tenant, is expected to remain open and continue serving customers until the new store opens.

The new Foodland Dillingham at ʻŌlauniu will feature everything customers have come to love about their neighborhood Foodland — including fresh-made poke, fried chicken, bento, musubi, fresh-made deli favorites, quality meats and seafood, fresh produce, and groceries — all in a brand-new, contemporary shopping environment. With an updated layout and design, the store will make it easy to find everyday essentials, discover new products and pick up delicious meals to enjoy with family and friends.
